The natural ecosystem of vagina consists of several key components that maintain the woman’s health:

  • a component that regulates pH;
  • a regenerating component that protects the mucosa from damage;
  • a component that supports the balance of microflora;

The influence of unfavorable factors disrupts the balance of components of the vaginal ecosystem:

  • in the case of vaginal dryness the risk of developing the pathogenic microflora (bacterial, fungal, mixed) becomes very high, lactobacilli die, pH shifts and mucosa becomes damaged and thin due to changes of the hormonal balance;
  • in the case of atrophic and dystrophic states of the vagina the mucosa is thinning and its barrier function is disturbed. Because of the decrease in the formation of lactic acid, pH shifts, lactobacilli die and as a result the secondary infection may appear.

The combined medication drug GYNORM is as similar to the ecosystem of vagina as possible and it contributes to restoring the ecosystem itself.

It is important to recognize the cause of the vaginal dryness and then look for a solution. If with the application of GYNORM, you get relief from the aching pain in vagina, then nothing could be better. Therefore, it is important to deal with the cause before it turns more serious.

Problems GYNORM fights or solves

  • The application of GYNORM brings relief from pain around the vagina and the woman will be free from the symptoms of vaginal dryness.
  • If you are looking for restoring pH balance in vagina, then the lactate buffer will act as a buffer to normalize vaginal pH balance.
  • The regenerator component of Hyaluronic acid is apt for those who are suffering from sore inside vagina, red vagina or fanny pain.
  • The applicant does not need to wait longer for the results as the composition of the product is adjusted as per the women physiology.

Characteristics of GYNORM

GYNORM comes with some characteristics that make it an ultimate choice for the discomfort in the vagina.

  • The molecular weight of the product is 2 mln Da, that is high enough to create a prolong effect.
  • The product does not contain any hormones, so there is no risk to cause any type of hormonal imbalances in the body.
  • It contains no alloy, paraffin, fats, glycerin so there is no risk of allergies and it does not leave any marks on your beds.
  • No herbal supplements or flavors, so no worries for women who have allergies to herbal or perfumed products.
  • Available in convenient gel form so easily distributes in the vagina and has a long-lasting effect.
  • You can use it with condoms.
  • It is easy to carry while you travel as each container is individually packed so no chance of contamination.
  • The shape of the container allows the gel to enter the vagina without many manipulations.

Why Use this Gel?

  • All the components of the gel act locally and do not get absorbed into the systematic circulation so low risk of side effects.
  • The components used are of high quality and familiar to the physicians.
  • Components are physiological and have a long-lasting effect.
  • The vaginal gel does not come with additive flavors as many have rashes or allergies due to them.
  • Hormone-free and does not interact with latex.
  • Single-dose container so no risk of contamination.

GYNORM is very easy to use. It is produced in the form of a gel in containers of 5 ml (7 containers in a pack). In the polymer container there are 7 ml of gel (when applying the gel, vagina gets about 5 ml). It is important that there are 25 mg of hyaluronic acid with a molecular weight of 2 million Da in one container which allows to feel comfort faster, is more effective and lasts for a longer period of time.

Application method

To prevent and eliminate symptoms of vaginal dryness, it is recommended to apply 1 container of GYNORM before bedtime during 7 days. In case of atrophic and dystrophic states of vagina, 1-2 GYNORM containers should be applied in day during 30 days. After that a maintenance dose should be used (once in 2-3 days).

Some scientific facts

Statistical data on the patients with this condition:

Every second woman has a vaginal ecosystem disorder

Prevalence and impact of vaginal symptoms among postmenopausal women. J Sex Med. 2009;6(8):2133–2142.  3. Nappi RE, Kokot-Kierepa M. Why is there such a high incidence of this condition?

The vagina and its healthy microbial flora form a balanced ecosystem of the vagina, where the environment controls local bacterial strains and the flora, in turn, controls vaginal environment and provides a natural protection of mucosa against pathogens. Sufficient levels of oestrogens are required for maturation of intact vaginal epithelium, as well as for the growth of Lactobacteriaceae (LB), which, in turn, produce lactic acid to maintain normal levels of vaginal pH. In addition to that, immune reactions in the vagina also influence vaginal ecosystem and play an important role in overall defence.

In the past decade, there were multiple studies of vaginal flora, including studies within the project of human microbiome and bacterial genome. The vaginal flora is ever changing; the quantities and types of vaginal microbiota may rapidly change within months to sometimes days.

Another important element that plays a role in vaginal micro-ecology is the functional condition of the multi-layered squamous necrotized epithelium of the vagina. The fluctuating levels of sex hormones, such as oestrogens, cause proliferation and maturation of vaginal epithelium. In vaginal atrophy, there is decreased efficacy of the barrier function of the epithelial layer of the vagina and, as a result, pathogenic organisms can easily penetrate into it.

The risk factors of impaired vaginal ecosystem may be endogenous (changes of hormonal levels, contraceptives, menstruation, pregnancy and lactation, diabetes, systemic disease) or exogenous in nature.

The exogenous factors may be lifestyle-dependant (smoking, stress, unprotected intercourse, etc.), infection-dependant or caused by medical interventions (antimicrobial therapy, radiation therapy, etc.).

Vaginal dryness

Vaginal dryness (atrophic vaginitis) is an irritation of vagina, caused by thinning and wrinkling of the tissues in vaginal walls, as well as by decreased secretion of natural lubrication. The dryness of vaginal mucosa produces discomfort, manifests as pain during sexual intercourse, bleeding of the vaginal wall (due to microtrauma caused by sex without sufficient natural moisture) and as itching and burning. Besides, another symptom of this unpleasant condition is frequent and strong urge to urinate.

The amount of lubrication produced by vaginal walls is vastly different in each woman. This is perfectly normal. As a rule, the woman does not notice any moisture in her vagina, since that fluid is colourless and has no odour whatsoever. When the moisture is no longer produced or produced in small quantities, the woman begins to experience dryness.

Since vaginal walls are thinned and are not capable of producing sufficient amounts of glycogen (the nutritious media for lactobacteria) and retaining lactobacteria on the mucous membrane (the lactobacteria are situated in a parietal fashion, in proximity to vaginal mucosa), the colonies of lactobacteria die off and their numbers steadily decrease. Reduced numbers of colonies of lactobacteria in vagina provide an excellent environment for colonization with pathogenic flora and the resulting nonspecific colpitis. Vaginal dryness adversely affects sexual life of the woman, since the pain she experiences during sexual intercourse forces her to evade sexual contacts or leads to a situation when the woman has completely no wish to have sex.

Thus, we have an understanding that vaginal dryness (atrophic vaginitis) = vaginal dysbiosis. This explains the importance of the effect created by GYNORM®: restoration of vaginal epithelial cells, which provide lactobacteria with an opportunity to grow and develop (please remember that lactobacteria are situated in a parietal, mucosa-associated fashion; they depend on glycogen for nutrition and a source for lactic acid synthesis).

Vaginal dryness (atrophic vaginitis) may result from the following conditions:

  1. Menopausal syndrome
  2. Diabetes mellitus
  3. Hyperthyroidism
  4. Pregnancy
  5. Acquired or congenital immune deficiency
  6. Ovarian dysfunction
  7. Metabolic dysfunction (affecting the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids)

The main reason why this abnormal condition develops in various diseases is the ABNORMALITY OF HORMONAL PRODUCTION.

Therefore, the chain of abnormal reactions looks like follows:

The hormonal imbalance produces a failure of the regenerating component of vaginal ecosystem. As a result, vaginal mucosa is no longer protected against the factors, which diminish its regenerative and restorative capacities. The mucous membrane of the vagina becomes thin and dystrophic changes begin to appear. In this connection, lactobacteria may no longer function normally, the colony count of lactobacteria is reduced and production of lactic acid decreases. This means that the second component of vaginal ecosystem is compromised and its function may no longer be normal; pH values change and shift to the alkaline side, which is an additional adverse influence on vaginal mucosa. The growth of opportunistic flora is triggered and, subsequently, colpitis develops.
